Last year I entered the Prudential Ride London Cycle ride – you know the one that leaves the Olympic Park at Lee Valley and goes through the Surrey Hills. Yes the one that has lots of sad people moaning about it for months – well no actually all year round!
This event raises millions of pounds for lots of different charities and yes, does mean closed roads for most of one day a year but surely it’s worth it?
The ride is 100 miles. Last year it was cut down to 86 because of the weather – we had the tail end of Hurricane Bertha so my friends and I decided to enter again in the hope of doing the full 100. Seemed like a good idea at the time – hmmmm, well training didn’t exactly start when it should of so now we are all out peddling like mad to make sure we’re fit enough.
As anyone who has completed a major event like this, think London Marathon or a triathlon, your body soon uses it’s reserves and you begin to feel a little sick as your muscles are depleted of any Mitochondria. This can burn glucose, fats and ketones to make carbon dioxide and water. They will do so give an adequate supply of oxygen.
I needed to find a way to ensure I don’t run out of reserves and a way that’s easy to take and retake whilst on the bike.
Luckily for me I was in Las Vegas when my company (Arbonne International – I’m an Independent Consultant and Area Manager with them) launched a new range of products called Phytosport. Available in the US and from this Autumn (September) will be available in the UK. I have a set and will soon have another as it’s coming back with a friend of mine who’s been on a visit :-).
Take a look at this video where I explain what it is and also introduce you to another energy giving product that’s helping me get through my training!
That’s all until next time…..
Stay healthy, happy and remember that the more grateful you are for what you have the more good things you will attract into your life.
